As human beings, we are wired to be social and to crave community and relationships. The way you interact with people and the environment that you create around you greatly impacts not only your business but also your life. In today’s episode, we talk about how those relationships can make or break your business.
Here are a few tips from the podcast to help you form better work (or any) relationships.
Having self-awareness of your personality and how you are with people. Being aware of how you operate and how you interact with people is key. Good relationships start with good people skills.
Listen more than you talk! We have two ears and one mouth for a reason. Sometimes improving relationships comes from listening to understand rather than listening to respond.
Invest the time into building relationships -devote part of your day to connection. Schedule it into your calendar if you have to. Write someone a card, pop into their office during lunch, respond to a post of theirs (genuinely), meet someone for coffee etc. Make the time.
Show your appreciation. People stay were they feel valued and appreciated.
Stay positive. What you focus on, grows. What you magnify, multiples. Where your attention goes, your energy flows. People are attracted to positivity.
